Methodist College Nursing Students to Study Impact of Culture on Kids' Health
June 11, 2018
A group of Methodist College nursing students and instructors, Lisa Gillespie and Brenda Mutchler, are spending a week in the Qualla Boundary (Cherokee Reservation) of North Carolina to learn how culture impacts the health of children, families, and their community.
Before leaving Peoria on Sunday, June 10, the group had collected a large amount of donated items that will be given to community organizations to distribute to children and families. The students and their instructors spent time sorting through the items to prepare to load on a U-Haul trailer to transport.
This learning opportunity is part of the summer nursing courses: N393 Beyond the Basics - Pediatric Assessment.
