Our Heritage
Methodist College is an operating division of Carle Health. In 1900, the deaconesses of the Methodist Episcopal Church opened the Deaconess Home and Hospital and its School of Nursing. Methodist School of Nursing graduated 3,291 nurses from 1900 to 2004. In March 2001, Methodist College was established in response to national trends affecting changes in the health care delivery system, the nursing profession, and nursing education.
Our history is one of making vital improvements in nursing education. Methodist College assists individuals in becoming baccalaureate-educated registered nurses and is committed to following the fine example established over the many years by the Methodist School of Nursing.
