Academic Minors
A minor is a program of study, with less depth than a major. It may be completed to complement or as an addition to a major. A minor has a minimum of 15 credit hours (minimum of) 3 lower division, minimum of 9 upper division credit hours, and remaining 3 from either lower or upper division.
Methodist College students electing a minor can meet with an advisor from participating faculty to help guide them in choosing courses to fulfill the requirements of the minor. A minor must be an elective choice - a student cannot be required to complete one as part of the requirements for a major.
A maximum of 6 transfer credits can be applied toward an academic minor.
Students can obtain a minor in the following concentrations:
- Arts & Humanities
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Studies
- Health Sciences
- Mathematics and Science
- Philosophy
- Psychology
- Social and Behavioral Sciences
